Henwood DNA Test Upgrade Order Today

Nadene Goldfoot
I have found one person who matches the 12 allele test that this Henwood has taken, and the match has taken the 37 allele test, so I broke down and upgraded our test.  This perfect match may soon change  in closeness as in chatting with them, their ancestors had left Hampshire, England and had moved over to the new America quite early on, whereas this line of ours had only recently immigrated from England.

According to our tip report, we should have a common ancestor 12 generations back or 300 years  to 1711, with a 70.69% chance, which would take this line back to John Henwood (1713-1786 born in Shalden Village, Hampshire, England and who died in Wield, Hampshire, England.  He was married to Elizabeth "Betty" Bennet.  Otherwise, we could find a connection with 94.30% chance back 24 generations probably to 1411.  We only know that our tree stops in 1538 with another John Henwood.  I guess King John was quite popular in those days.  There were lots of Johns.

Update 12/12/11 Our upgrade is scheduled to be ready by 1/25/12.  I hope it will come through sooner.
Update: 1/23/12  i just checked and due to high volume being tested, our will not be ready till 2/13/12/  I can't wait to see it.
Update: 2/2/12: The test came in today.  R1b1a2 (M269)

Modern Man in Europe 42,000 to 44,000 Years Ago

Homo Sapiens, our modern man, have been found to immigrate to the continent of Europe 42,000 to 44,000 years ago.   Italy has produced informationfrom tiny teeth found in a cave that had originally been thought to belong to Neanderthals.  A cave in England produced a jawbone  of a homo sapiens with the age of  41,500 to 44,200 years.

Neanderthal became extinct only 30,000 years ago, showing that the two types lived together at the time time.  Recent genome work found interbreeding that had taken place in the Middle East.

R1b DNA Similar to Niall of the Nine Hostages?

Nadene Goldfoot
Niall Noigíallach, was a High King of Ireland, and the father of millions of descendants. He lived in the 5th century, and his estimated death date is 450/455 AD (Source). The Southern and Northern Uí Néill (meaning "descendants of Niall"; Uí pronounced 'Ee') dynasties produced the Irish High Kings for centuries and includes St. Columba, Niall's great-great grandson.  His Ydna was also R1b.  Our differences in red.

13   25   14   11   11   13   12   12   12   13   14   29  : 17   9   10   11   11   25   15 18 30 15 16 16 17
      23                         14                               13

So we seem to have a distance of 4 in the first 12 alleles, but it is interesting.  We have only tested the first 12 alleles.

Haplogroup R1b1a2 Henwood: R1b1a2 King Tut

My cousin in South Africa reported about a dna test done on the Pharaoh Tut in Egypt:

In the October 2011 edition of SHEMU, the magazine published by THE EGYPTIAN SOCIETY OF SOUTH AFRICA (TESSA)

(as I have told you I have been a member of this Society since it was founded in 1997), an article titled

"KING TUT'S DNA FOUND IN WESTERN EUROPE". It is most thrilling to read what it states :-

"More than 50% of Western European men share a common ancestor with the Egyptian pharaoh TUTANKHAMUN, geneticists in Switzerland announed recently.

Scientists at Zurich's DNA genealogy centre IGENEA reconstructed the DNA profile of Tutankhamun, his father; Y-DNA profile of Tutankhamun

I'm afraid that Henwood's R1b1a2 is not a perfect match for King Tut but it is the same haplogroup.
from IGENEA page:

2/2/12:  Test results for Henwood just came in.
The 3 numbers in red is where Henwood differs from Tut.  The blue numbers have not been tested for Henwood.  (Now they have).

From his matches with people that have had the 67 allele test, it looks like he should also be R1b1a2a1a1a4.

AKHENATEN (who married NEFERTITI) and his grandfather AMENHOTEP III (who married TYE).

The results showed that they belonged to a genetic profile group known as haplogroup R1b1a2.

More than 50% of all men in Western Europe belong to the same group as the three pharaohs.

In Britain and Spain it is as high as 70%.

Interestingly, among modern Egyptians this haplogroup contingent is below one percent." (in my opinion this could be the

result of the onslaught of the Arab invasion which started from about 639 AD and has never ceased since then)

According to the Director of the IGENEA CENTRE ROMAN C SCHOLZ, here's the crunch line :

"THE GENETIC GROUP'S COMMON ANCESTOR LIVED IN THE CAUCASUS ABOUT 9,500 YEARS AGO".

The IGENEA CENTRE has now launched a DNA testing project to search for what they call "the closest living relative of

TUTANKHAMUN'S MALE LINEAGE IN EUROPE".

It is now thought that Tut's father was Akhenaten and his mother was either Akhanaten's sister, or more likely Queen Nefertiti, who was so very beautiful and was a 1st cousin to Akhenaten.

Test kits are sold online.

On the 5th of January of 1852, John Henwood was on trial in the Castle of Winchester in Southhampton., Hampshire, England  .  He was accused of stealing 7 lbs of flour.  Then he was aquitted.

On the 18th of October 1852 Charles Henwood , in Southhampton, Winchester in Hampshire was accused of larceny before and was now convicted of a felony.  This time he was sentenced to 9 months.

Interestingly, Munday is the name of a wife of Charles, and a William Munday was also up on larceny before and now was convicted of a felony.  He was sentenced for 7 years.

1852 must have been a bad year for people in England.

Frederick John Henwood in Seattle 1920

The Declaration of Intention  of naturalization books from 1890-1926 volume 8 passage 12 lists that on January 12, 1920, Frederick John Henwood in the seattle District Court filled out a Declaration for naturalization.

Our Frederick James was born in June of 1900.  He was the brother of Charles Ernest Henwood, and I haven't been able to find him.  I know he had been in the navy, possibly of Canada, I'm not sure.

Our Henwoods on "Find My Past"

I just found Queenie Dorothy Disney on the 1911 census at age 11 in Romford, Essex, England
Charles Henwood b: 1854, widower, the father of Charles Earnest, was on the 1911 census at age 57 in Lower Froyle, Alton, Hampshire with his son Frederick, age 11, but son Charles Earnest was not with them.  Older Charles and son were living with Widow Mould, 58 and her granddaughter, age 13.  Charles was boarding there and listed as domestic gardener.  This is no doubt where Charles Earnest got his gardening from, but where was he?

The mystery is that I found this Charles on the 1891 census as a single man age 37 and general servant on Hussey's Road, Froyle, Hartley , England living with the Morse family of Raymond A 48 and Silina 37.  .  It's the right place, but single?  His wife didn't die till 1906.

John Henwood, Servant

John Henwood was a servant to John Horwood.  I wonder if there was any connection here.  The wife (I hope) was Jane Cherye.  He was a servant as of August 25, 1628.

He also came up in the world by being servant to Sir Richard Kingsmell .  Both these positions were in Hampshire.

It's interesting that a servant to Richard Kingsmell took place in Virginia  in the 1600's and that the servant was another John.

John Henwood Marriage of 1560 and 1629 in Hampshire, England

John Henwood married Mary Martin on April 23, 1629 in Kingsclere, Hampshire, England.  This was found on ancestry.com marriages of England and Wales.  I just hope I've picked the right John.

I found John Henwood marrying Joane Langsard on May 27, 1633 but in St. Mary, Battersea, Surrey, England.  Surrey is next door to Hampshire, so it's possible it's even the same man.

Then I found John Hynwod who married Margaret Myllet on September 22, 1560 in Kingsclere, Hampshire, England.

1911 G Henwood Family in Surrey

The 1911 census in Surrey used first name initials on the page I found a G Henwood. Surrey is a neighbor of Hampshire where I have found most Henwoods. The G could be for a George, Gerald. He had 4 males and 5 females in the family at Dahlia Cottage in Farnham, Surrey, England. The others were not listed, only the head of the family and type of structure. That's 9 people living in a cottage.
