Family Finder Ordered

Nadene Goldfoot

I ordered the familyfinder test (autosomal) for my son who already has had the 37 allele test which found that his Ydna haplogroup is R1b1a2.  His haplogroup happens to be the Western Atlantic Model.  The familyfinder is a test for both sides, mother and father, Y and MT.  It will show matches that somebody might have on one or more chromosome segments.

Also, I'll be able to see just what and how much chromosomes he has inherited from me, his female cousin and my brother.  It usually takes from a month to 6 weeks to get the results.

Some people also like to take their report and upload it into GedMatch.com which is a free site and see how they compare with other people who have done the same thing.  That is also quite revealing.  I hoe to see results at least by the 1st of December, or maybe even on Thanksgiving.  That could be his Chanukah gift.

Resource: Family Tree DNA-from Houston, Texas

Update: The results are due on or before December 2, 2013.  Can't wait to see it.  I had ordered the test on October 15, 2013, so it could take the whole 6 weeks.
